A growing number of patients report significant injuries after receiving metal hip implants. Our firm represents victims who received defective metal hip replacements and experienced complications such as implant loosening, tissue damage, metal toxicity, and revision surgery. We invite you to consult a Wright hip lawyer in our office about your potential case at (866) 808-2424 or by using our brief online form at any time.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued warnings regarding metal-on-metal hip implants such as Wright Medical’s CONSERVE device. The metal ball and cup components in these devices rub together during walking or running, which can release tiny metal particles into the tissue surrounding the implant. This tissue damage can result in pain, loosening of the implant, failure of the hip replacement, and the need for difficult revision surgery to replace the metal implant with another device. The release of metal debris can also cause metal ions like cobalt and chromium to enter the patient’s bloodstream raising systemic health concerns.

Our Wright hip lawyers are investigating evidence that the manufacturer was aware of these health risks, but continued to market the device as safe and effective for patients.

Is There a Wright Hip Class Action Lawsuit?

A nationwide Wright hip class action has not been formed in the United States. Rather, victims of a defective Wright hip implant must file an individual lawsuit if they wish to pursue compensation for their injuries.

A centralized proceeding is now pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia (MDL No. 2329). Other cases are pending in various state courts around the country. Your claim could be included in the federal litigation or pursued separately in state court.
