In November 2014, a Stryker settlement was announced in the amount of $1 billion to settle claims in both federal court and in the coordinated New Jersey action. Under the terms of the agreement, patients who have not yet filed a lawsuit but who develop injuries in the future may still qualify for the Stryker settlement. Negotiations are expected to be ongoing between the device manufacturer and individual Stryker hip law firms to move more claims toward resolution.
